INTRODUCTION
Once upon a time, a boy liked to hang out alone at a nearby grassland. It was a place where he would go to be with the skies, the winds, and the grass.
One day, he had to move on to other faraway places following itinerant duties of his father; eventually, becoming an established individual himself. One day, now an adult, he goes back to revisit that old familiar grassland; and ponders whether the place feels any different when the only change had been in himself.
For some reason, a story like that comes to mind. Like listening to an old familiar song that one day starts to touch your heart. Somewhere within these fluctuations in human emotion lies the world of Michael Lee.
These ten paintings represent Michael Lee's fourth "butbeautiful" series of exhibitions. This time, its theme seems to primarily be based on concepts of sky, emotion, and color; as they collaborate to pursue the continuing theme of his art which he simply calls, "but beautiful". May these paintings help us rejuvenate vibrations in our own hearts.

はじめに
あるところに、一人の少年がいました。いつもひとりぼっちの少年は、近くの草原へ行くのが好きでした。
そこは、少年の秘密の場所でもあったのです。
来る日も来る日も、何をするわけでもなく、ただ空を見上げて風を感じ、草と戯れ…。
ある日、少年は引っ越しをしなければならなくなり、その馴染み親しんだ土地を離れました。やがて幾年かが過ぎ、少年は実業家へと成長したのです。
そんなある時、ふと無性にあの草原を思い出し、青年は一人で再びそこを訪れました。
かつてと同じ、何ひとつ変わらない空。なのに、どこか違って見えるのは僕が変わったからなのだろうか..。
なぜか、このような物語が浮かんでくるのです。
これらの作品10点が、今回で4度目の開催となるMichael Leeの展覧会"butbeautiful"の代表作です。
"butbeautiful"を押し進める本展覧会の主となるテーマは、3つのメインコンセプト、心、色、空（心を彩る空）から成っています。
私はマイケルの作品を見て、彼の持つ画家としての役割を感じるようになりました。それは私たちの心に触れようとしている何かで、その何かとはおそらく、情熱とたゆみない妄想であるような気がします。
私がこのプロジェクトに携わることにしたのは、彼のこれらの作品が、もしかしたら私たちの中にも存在している“揺れる心”に響き、魅了するきっかけになるのではと思ったからです。
たとえば昔聴いた、当時は何も感じなかった一曲の歌。それが月日の経過の中で、ある日偶然流れてきたのを耳にし、なぜか心が動く。
それに似た、誰にでもありうる心模様が、マイケル. リーの世界です。
どうぞ、彼の「心を彩る空」を訪ね、豊かに想像し、その情熱に触れてみてください。
